Muffie Wiebe serves on the Corporate Affairs Learning Sciences team headed by Dennis Frezzo – a rapid prototyping R&D team that conducts design-based research of learning experiences for Cisco’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
In her role, Muffie advances Cisco’s thought leadership in education. She is co-author on academic research, blogs, and white papers, and is designing appropriate learning analytics to support effective instructor and student-self-study enablement. Through equity reviews of developing learning tools and experiences, Muffie helps ensure Cisco’s mission of an inclusive future for all.
For over 20 years, Muffie has championed innovative education, working with schools and teachers to support and sustain more active, engaged learners. She has worked with an extensive range of educational contexts, including classrooms from infant up through 8th grade, undergraduate and graduate students, and professional development for preservice and in-service teachers.
Muffie joined Cisco two years ago, focused on innovating the learning pathways into the rapidly changing future of work. Previously she served as Executive Director of a nonprofit serving high poverty families in East Palo Alto, and taught child and adolescent development for eight years at the Connie L. Lurie College of Education at San Jose State University.
Outside of Cisco, Muffie is an author and speaker on parenting and education. She serves on the board of Learning Home Volunteers, a new nonprofit innovating home learning for low-income families to ensure all children enter Kindergarten ready to thrive. Muffie holds her PhD in Learning Science from the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University.
