I’m guilty. Acknowledging is the first step to recovery, right? I don’t back up my digital data very thoroughly, no matter how important it is. In millennium-era fashion, I find the time to email the super essential stuff to myself, but deep down, I know that there’s a better way than filling the inbox of my web-based email server. Having my documents, pictures, music, etc. is really as easy as picking up a USB drive next time I am out, which would allow me to save all this content using just my home network.

If you are like millions of others, you will be doing some traveling this holiday season. If so, staying connected while away from home has never been easier—or potentially more dangerous.

Unsecured internet connections can leave you vulnerable to attacks by hackers, allowing your credit card, password, or other sensitive information be stolen, as well as exposing your laptop to viruses and other potential risks. To protect yourself, be sure to take security precautions whenever you are using an unsecured network.

For many, the concept of using an adapter on a laptop to connect to a wireless network seems confusing. The advantages, however, are clear: the following adapters, when used with a Wireless-N router, will allow you to network at a much faster pace with expanded range, so that you may enjoy your Wireless-N network to the fullest.
