Hi All! This is the second of what I’m hoping will be a weekly recap for Enterprise Networks.I say “hoping” because we’re just testing it out for now to see if people like it and if it adds value.
In this video I give a short summary of what happened this last week, then I have a fun interview with one of our premier ASIC designers here at Cisco, Guntram Wolski. When we were coming up with the concept for this weekly recap I wanted to find some of the smart, fun, technical people who have been involved with the creation of some of our coolest technologies. I really lucked out with Guntram – as you’ll see, we had quite a fun* interview. Finally, we have an announcement on what we’ll be covering next week. After the jump, I’ve got all the links to things mentioned during the recap. Let me know what you think of this video and if there are other people you’d like me to interview.
Enterprise Networks This Week:
- Blog – Enterprise Networks: What’s the Attraction with Abstraction? This post is a great example of how the different layers in the architecture can come together to enable a very cool experience for our customers’ customers. [End users? Does that make us the pushers?]
- Blog – Rule the World of Application QoS with Cisco AVC and ActionPacked! Networks – Not mentioned but neato
- Blog – (Security) Cisco’s onePK Part 1: Introduction
- Blog – From last week, but mentioned Introducing Cisco ONE Enterprise Networks Architecture Supporting the Internet of Everything introduces the new architecture. Check it out!
- Blog – SDN Infographic – Ok, I recorded part of this video at the beginning of the week… and the infographic isn’t done. Consider this as unicornial advertising for next week.
- Webinar – One of the webinars mentioned this week can be found on our commuity and are free to watch on demand
- Webinar – The other webinar is, How to Increase Business Service Revenues for CSPs with Application Visibility
- Also Mentioned: The Unofficial CLUS 5k I can’t guarantee I’ll run since running is really not my thing (nervs in my foot get angry), but it should be fun.
Thanks for reading and let me know if you have any suggestions on the weekly recap! Here is that QR Code for the magical Ent Networks App.

*I know I use the word fun a lot. But I had fun doing the interview. I hope you do likewise watching.
PS: Don’t forget to let me know who you want to see interviewed. Even if you don’t know their name… “the guy/gal who invented X” should suffice.
PPS: Um, yes. That intro was recorded at the end of a very long day.
Cool!
Thanks Dude or Dudette. You’re much nicer than the YouTube commenter 😀
