David Knight

As the Chief Technology Officer of Cisco’s Collaboration Software Group, David Knight focuses on helping to define, align and evangelize CSG's overall technical vision and product strategy. He is also building out an innovation lab to facilitate rapid prototyping of "big" ideas from across the organization. The CTO team will be a catalyst in support of the work of our Product Management and Engineering teams. He is responsible for setting the strategic product direction and requirements for the industry leading Cisco WebEx collaboration product line including Conferencing, Instant Messaging and WebEx Mail.

As Senior Director of Product management at WebEx, David played a key role in bringing WebEx from a young public company through the acquisition by Cisco. Knight also held executive positions at Portera Systems, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) vendor of professional service automation systems. In addition he was Director of Internet Middleware, among other roles, at Sybase. He began his management career at Oracle.

Knight holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
