Greetings and Happy New Year to you all. I trust you all enjoyed the Holiday Season.

Like many, I took some time off during the Holidays. We spent a week up in Mammoth Mountain here in California and while the snow quantity was a little lacking, the snow quality and somewhat smaller crowds more than made up for it. It truly is these times to cherish with family and friends. We enjoyed some fresh snow (powder for the non-skiers/snowboarders) which was a blessing.

I look forward to our next trip! Hope you all get a chance to get out there if possible. Mammoth Mountain just received a few feet this week (of course, I am back at work). Sometime you get the bluebird days, sometimes not.

In less than a week, the first Major Open of the year starts for Professional Tennis. The Australian Open is the first of four Majors of the year (French Open, Wimbledon, US Open). Unfortunately Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka on the women’s side will not be playing. Andy Murray is nursing a bad hip and will also not play.

Roger Federer is in Melbourne getting ready for the start as is Rafael Nadal and others. If you follow tennis, I am sure you will be watching. If you do not, pick a fun match to watch. If you need recommendations, let me know in the below comments. You can always go to the tournament site and look up the schedule of play. The Draw (matches) should come out this week.

The year started off with a bang for our team as we we already heads-down working on new products, roadmaps, more further feature definitions, new opportunities, and planning partner visits. There is so much to do with so little time. Sound familiar?

We will have plenty of new products to tell you all about this year including Switching, Wireless and of course, my RV Series Routers.

(..look above..)

I thought I would share one of our Tech Talks video our team did led by Dr. Paul. His team has been doing amazing work. Please stay tuned here as well as our social media channels. This particular video covers our powerful gigabit wireless, multigigabit (MGig) ethernet WAP581 Wireless Access Point.

This model is a WAVE2, 4×4, MU-MIMO on 5 GHz and 3×3 MIMO on 2.4 GHz for maximum performance. Read more about this amazing model on the product page. This product is a perfect fit with our new MGig SG350X Switches.

That is it for now, please stay tuned here for more product and service offerings. I hope you get to see some of the action happening down in Melbourne.

Thanks for hanging out with us!

Marc, Dr. Paul and the rest of the Cisco Small Business Team
