At Cisco, our goal is to deliver Webex experiences that are 10X better than in-person interactions and an important part of that is making these experiences inclusive and equal for all. We are making sure everyone is included and part of the conversation, whether working from their dining table or in an office building.
Today, I’m pleased to announce Cisco’s intent to acquire privately held Slido s.r.o., a technology company that provides a best-in-class audience interaction platform. Slido technology enables higher levels of user engagement―before, during and after meetings and events. The Slido technology will be part of the Cisco Webex platform and enhance Cisco’s ability to offer new levels of inclusive audience engagement across both in-person and virtual experiences.
In the massive shift to “virtual everything,” remote meetings and events have become the lifeblood for connecting people in all aspects of their lives―from friends to family to work colleagues. According to a recent global workforce survey, 98 percent of respondents expect future meetings to include remote participants. Companies are rethinking how they maintain bonds, foster culture and make virtual experiences with employees, sales and customers―on small and large scales―inclusive and better than in-person interactions.
Slido has over 7 million participants monthly and provides its customers with an inclusive audience engagement platform that enables real-time feedback and insight before, during and after any meeting or event via dynamic polls, Q&A, quizzes, word clouds, surveys and more.
Audience interaction can be set up in less than a minute. Participants join the audience view with a simple event code or link on their smartphone, tablet or laptop connected to the internet. There’s no need to download anything. Once a participant joins, they can respond to polls, ask questions or provide feedback. The richness of this audience interaction technology will empower everyone to engage in new ways. It’s a great mechanism for providing audience engagement in real-time.
The combination of the all-new Cisco Webex and Slido’s audience interaction expertise will make seamless collaboration and inclusivity a reality for meetings and events — whether in-person or virtual.
With Slido’s technology, Cisco will integrate even more insights into the Webex platform to help everyone work smarter and be more productive whenever and wherever work happens. We are going to enable companies around the world that have traditionally relied on in-person events like townhalls, all hands meetings and major user conferences to make sure everyone is engaged and included.
Soon, meeting owners will be able to:
- Create engaging and dynamic participant experiences with dynamic Q&As and polls using graphic visual representations to express the results clearly.
- Get real-time critical insights and understanding before, during and after meetings and events, from all-hands and townhalls to conferences and training sessions.
- Obtain inclusive feedback so every voice is heard.
- Give presenters the confidence that they are connecting in a meaningful way with their audience.
And of course, Slido will align with Cisco’s strict data policies, complementing our longstanding commitment to security and privacy and the culture of security Cisco has built. We never rent or sell our customers’ information. All of this enables Webex to deliver a great user experience and helps our customers stay safe.
I look forward to sharing more on this soon.
sli.do is an amazing tool. We in Cisco legal use it extensively for large meetings and all-hands!!
Thanks so much for your kind words. It’s great to hear you enjoy using Slido. We’re excited about joining Cisco.
I have been using slido for nearly 3 years now and I must say, I love slido. Now when I know it has been created in Slovakia I love it even more 🙂 Well done guys !!!
So why they did not note that in the article? Another one from Slovakia.
Yes! Make this happen as soon as possible Slido and Webex! A Match made in Heaven!
Slido’s leadership (and/or ownership) are greedy and not honest to their employees. They promised stock option for at least 5 years and never delievered. Employees accepted small salary in hopes of getting options. It is ok to be greedy but it is not ok to be liers. Probably good people will leave.
Interesting remark, thanks for that. Like usual, business owners will become happy until their very end, and Cisco’s talent to “tune up” some successful products was proved few times. In fact, do they want to enslave people in digital cage for good by stating “At Cisco, our goal is to deliver Webex experiences that are 10X better than in-person interactions” ? 🙂
Anyhow, this can be useful tool, hope they keep it as good as it is at the moment.
You can do a class action lawsuit.
Wow, very cool!
Awesome ✌?
Love to see it! Bring it on.
This is great news. Bravo.
Is there a limit of people that can join a event/meeting virtually once we have created this? Does this require any additional memberships/purchases to have access to Cisco’s events/meetings on Slido?
I feel sorry for Cisco to acquire such an awful company full of fake promises and fake culture.
As mentioned above the former owners are greedy storytellers promising things they knew wouldn’t be real.
Can we see a short video vs. a couple of screen shots?
Hi, there are several Slido demos on You tube here -https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=slido+demo
Great news. Lets Welcome Slido in to Cisco Family…
My company use sli.do for all our training programs and all hands meetings. However, we use MS Teams conferencing platform. Will sli.do remain a standalone platform for users outside of Webex?
Cisco understands the value in supporting Slido as a standalone product and building great integrations with other virtual meeting and presentation platforms so third-party integrations will continue. There will be no immediate change for Slido customers, who will continue to access services and support in the same way they did prior to today’s announcement, and they will be kept fully informed of any changes.
When does this merger take effect?
Pending all customary closing conditions and required regulatory approvals, the acquisition is scheduled to close during the second quarter of Cisco’s FY21.
Correction – In follow-up to my earlier comment – I meant to say that the acquisition would close in the second half of Cisco’s FY21.
This is great news! Bravo to all the people who made this deal happen.
As a team experience facilitator I am so very excited for these new features to be added to our Webex platform!! We are already using our new reactions and breakout rooms with great results. Keep the innovation coming!!
Is a zoom integration still happening or does that acquisition nix that?
When Do Slido can we Send Poll Feed During Streaming ?
??When will my daughter be able to drag and drop her friends into the same “Virtual Dance Hall” to have a virtual dance party? Just drag each others icon into a common virtual background and blend their 2 images. They are ‘in the same room!’ – this will heal 🙂 love and respect! Welcome 2 Cisco !
As cisco employees, how do we get licenses for Slido?
I love sli.do and always sleeped well with Cisco 🙂
