We see IoT in action everywhere – when you order a car from a ridesharing app, control your thermostat from your phone, or check to see if you’ve hit 10,000 steps for the day. But similar seamless experiences – ones that could make your job and life easier – aren’t readily deployed everywhere in healthcare… yet.

In many cases, it comes down to the network foundation that supports a hospital and the security that keeps all the data safe. For example, a new connected medical device is deployed to all nurses, but it doesn’t work properly. The first thought is to blame the device. It’s not working. The project has failed. But perhaps it wasn’t the device. Was the network modern enough to support and manage these new devices? Were they properly configured and with the right security policies?

The ability to sense and understand the context of everything that is happening across all applications, users, and devices on your hospital’s network makes a difference in seamless care supported by IoT and connected health. And the impact could be huge when it comes to protecting patients and data, streamlining clinical workflows, and personalizing the patient experience.

To explore these challenges and network solutions in more depth, Creative Intellect Consulting has developed a series of four papers – starting with the network foundation for IoT and connected healthcare

Don’t miss the rest of the series which delves deeper into security, clinical workflows, and patient experience. Check back with us tomorrow to learn more!
