Stacy Hayes

Vice President for Strategic Alliances and Channels, Virtustream

Stacy Hayes joined Virtustream from Terremark, where he was responsible for Public Sector Civilian agency sales.  He led a team of sales professionals responsible for delivering the Terremark portfolio of cloud and security services to the US Government.  Prior to joining Terremark Public Sector, he was tasked with creating and operating a go-to-market focused Strategic Channels & Alliances organization.  He joined the company in 2009 as a result of Terremark’s acquisition of DS3 DataVaulting, where he was a co-founder and president.

Formed in 2002, DS3 DataVaulting emerged as a leader in the Backup as a Service (BUaaS) market, helping define the field as an early service provider, eventually growing into one of the largest independent service companies in the space.  The company was specifically targeted for acquisition by Terremark to strengthen and unify its customer data protection capabilities.

Stacy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1989.  He was also commissioned as a US Naval Officer upon graduation after successfully completing the university’s ROTC program as a scholarship student.  Military assignments included sea duty and the pentagon as a White House Liaison Officer for the Secretary of the Navy.
