Richard Spoor serves as a Customer Delivery Architect within the CX EMEA Centre of Excellence for Utilities Digitization at Cisco. His career trajectory took a fascinating turn from the field of archaeology, where he specialized in Middle Eastern studies and earned a Master of Arts degree from Leiden University in The Netherlands, to the dynamic realms of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT).
Prior to his tenure at Cisco, Richard Spoor honed his expertise as a Service Management consultant and as a manager of a network operations centre for Cisco partners. In February 2008, he embarked on his journey with Cisco, taking on the role of Service and Support Manager. In this capacity, he provided support to global Oil & Gas industry leaders.
His career at Cisco evolved as he established and managed a Cisco Managed OT Security service, subsequently taking on the role of CX Product Manager for the Cisco Industrial Services portfolio. Drawing from the wealth of experience accumulated in these positions, Richard Spoor now plays a pivotal role in guiding Utilities customers—including those in the Power, Water, and Renewables sectors—and partners through their energy digitization journeys, helping them to navigate and leverage technological advancements for optimal outcomes.
