Edward Thomson is an Information Security Consultant in Cisco’s Security Advisory Services team and joined Cisco as part of the acquisition of Portcullis Computer Security Ltd in 2015.
He works as a penetration tester and a GRC consultant. The variety of work entailed in these areas can see him testing the security of a website one day and consulting with Cisco’s clients on risk and maturity the next.
Edward joined Portcullis in October 2015 after obtaining a distinction in an MSc Infromation Security degree at Royal Holloway University of London. Previously, he has worked in finance and also has a PhD in Astrophysics. He also holds ISO27001 Lead Implementation and ISO 27005 Risk Management certificates.
He is passionate about cryptography, privacy, and blockchain technology.
