Security Strategist | Trusted Advisor

Cisco Security Research and Operations

I currently work as a security strategist and trusted advisor in the Security Research and Operations organization at Cisco. In this role, I'm responsible for developing security solutions using controls that deter, detect, and prevent existing, current, and emerging threats and attacks, threat and vulnerability research, penetration testing, risk and impact assessments, and innovating new service ideas.

I've also participated in multiple industry-wide disclosure and multi-vendor affecting security vulnerabilities.

I create and publish white papers on various security topics, techniques, and technologies and have had the opportunity to speak at multiple conferences in the US and internationally on various security topics. I have over 10 years of experience with technology in the networking, security, data center, wireless, and systems administration fields. During my career, I've worked with customers on the design, implementation, and operation of large-scale enterprise and data center network and security architectures.

Prior to joining Cisco, I worked as a system administrator and senior escalation engineer handling and troubleshooting complex security and network incidents.

I currently live in Texas with my wife, daughter, and our furry four-legged family member (chocolate lab). I enjoy coaching my daughters soccer/football team and fishing in my leisure time.
