Interviews are tricky because they can range from amazing experiences to downright horror stories. They make most people (even the interviewer) a little nervous, but they are one of the best ways to determine if you are a good fit for the team. This is also the best time to find out if the team is a good fit for you.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could have an awesome experience every time? If the interview could be efficient, transparent, and organized? If there was great communication from start to finish?
These are exactly the qualities that people who have interviewed at Cisco use to describe their experience. 84% of candidates had either positive or neutral things to say about their interviews. That’s how we earned a spot on Glassdoor’s Top 10 Tech Companies for Interview Experience.

Want to interview at Cisco? You’ve got to start by applying!
Andy, I appreciate this encouraging blog. I am posting it to my social networks in the hope that it may inspire some of my friends to apply and interview with Cisco. I was interviewed and hired by Cisco over 5 years ago, but I still remember that my interviews were thorough, professional, and relaxed. More importantly, the interviewers did not misrepresent the company; Cisco really is a great company to work for.
Can’t think or a more desirable job than working within Cisco
Great… I want to work here also..
Absolutely agree! I joined Cisco 5.5 years ago and to this day, I still talk about the interviewing process I went through as it’s very memorable and I was utterly impressed. I’ve also made sure these past years at Cisco when hiring to ensure the same thoroughness, professionalism and genuine friendliness when interviewing candidates to continue living up to our high Cisco expectations! Thx for sharing 🙂
Andy, thank you for this piece. As a leader in the industry, Cisco prides itself on working to change the world through its technology. While advancements in technology serve as the opportunity, people drive its adoption. This begins with the hiring process. In my experience, Cisco created a differentiator through its ability to align on culture. It takes a commitment from both the company and employee to drive company culture, and Cisco has won in this area. In my time at Cisco, I have been surrounded by a group of dedicated and driven individuals focused on making this company better each day. The interview teams are a direct reflection of how Cisco maintains the ability to articulate the right Cisco message, to the right people, at the right time.
Wow this sounds really great.. so how do I get a job here???
