Jason Miller is a Technical Marketing Engineer with Cisco’s Cable Access Business Unit where he supports cable operators around the world. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette. Following college, he worked ten years with Shell Oil Company as a Communications Engineer before joining Cisco in 1999 as a Systems Engineering working with Service Providers in the Gulf coast area. Although he worked with a variety of networking technologies, he developed expertise in routing protocols and access networks. In 2003, he expanded his role and began to specialize in technologies associated with DOCSIS and Cisco’s CMTS products. Today he works directly in the Cable Access Business Unit helping customers deploy new technology like DOCSIS 3.1. Jason holds several Cisco network certifications including the top certification of Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) as well as SCTE DOCSIS Engineering Professional (DEP). Jason and his wife, Rachel, have two grown sons and live in the country outside New Orleans. Jason fills most of his free time cycling and tending to the fruits and vegetables he grows on his land.
