Richard Medcalf leads the Economics Practice within Cisco's Internet Business Solution Group (IBSG), with responsibility for its EMEAR business as well as its global Service Provider activities.
In this role, he assists CXOs within Cisco’s strategic customers to understand the business and financial impact of market and technology trends, formulate strategies, and assess investment opportunities. He brings more than 15 years of strategy consulting experience, working at executive level for service providers, financial institutions, global enterprises and public sector bodies.
Prior to joining Cisco, Medcalf was a partner at Analysys Mason, a telecoms and media strategy consulting firm, where he was primarily responsible for directing strategy, finance, and regulatory assignments for service providers. His experience includes more than 20 due diligence assignments, market entry planning, retail pricing and profitability optimization, and board-level scenario planning.
Medcalf holds a first-class masters degree from Oxford University.
