Happy New Year! As we kick off 2018 and head to CES in Las Vegas this week, I am happy to share that, effective immediately, Damian Mulcock has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of our Service Provider Video Software and Solutions (SVPSS) business.
He will be in charge of delivering the features and experiences that enable our service provider customers to continue to drive positive net promoter scores (NPS) for their customers. From content security and cloud platforms, to video processing, video recording and video experiences, he’ll help us continue to lead the industry with our technology innovations.
Our industry continues to be at a critical inflection point, here at the onset of 2018, facing aggressive competitive and capacity challenges while transitioning to all-IP distribution. Leadership matters. Damian is seasoned, smart and an all- around terrific person. He has 18 years of experience in both mobile video start-ups and large corporations, including SeaChange, where he created the Multiscreen Business Unit, launching a range of linear and on-demand OTT services. He joined Cisco in December 2014 as part of the transformation team for the Service Provider Video Business.
He’s been a colleague to me for many years, and I can say without hesitation that he’s a great leader. Please join me in congratulating him on his new role at Cisco!
Damien – well done!! You, Ira, David and Thalli have done such a fantastic job with SPVSS under Yvette's excellent and awesome guidance. How can it get any better? You have put the business where it is today and I am sure you will carry on splendidly where Conrad left off. A worthy successor indeed.
