As Vice President of the Worldwide Commercial Segment for Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, Dave O’Callaghan is responsible for sales, strategy and programs of the Mid-Market and Small segments.

Dave previously served as Vice President of Worldwide Distribution for Cisco. In that role, he was responsible for driving Cisco’s distribution strategy, a cornerstone of Cisco’s go-to-market strategy that serves thousands of Cisco Channel Partners. Currently, 28 percent of worldwide revenue of Cisco’s overall business is sold through the distribution channel.

During Dave’s tenure in WW Distribution, collaboration between Channels, Partners and Cisco Manufacturing enabled him to create the initiative Lean Forward. This initiative has driven supply chain methodologies through Cisco and the Distribution partner base to optimize working capital for all participants.

Prior to that role, Dave served as the Vice President of sales for the commercial west area at Cisco, driving sales, administrative and systems engineering staffs for twelve states focusing on the commercial segment. Under his leadership, Dave’s area grew to become the top-performing area in the US in FY’06 at Cisco, and the number one year-to-date growth for FY’07.

Before joining Cisco, Dave held various positions, including Vice President of the western region for Hitachi Data Systems during an eleven-year stint with that company.

Dave is based in Denver, and has become an active community leader in Colorado. In 2000, Dave was named as a Commissioner on the Governor’s Commission on Science and Technology by Governor Bill Owens. The Commission was responsible for assisting the Governor in leading Colorado’s technology vision for the 21st century. Dave is also an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Denver University, and participates as an Executive Mentor for MBA students throughout the school year.

Dave is a past Board Member for Colorado State University’s Industry Advisory Board, which assists CSU in understanding the needs of industry in education. He has also has been a member of the Board of Directors for Volunteers of America in Denver for over five years, assisting the VOA in their quest to support the underprivileged in Colorado.

Dave received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He resides in Littleton, Colorado with his wife of 26 years and their three children.
