(Interop) Las Vegas or Bust

May 18, 2009 - 1 Comment

Interop Las Vegas kicked off today, and up until last Friday, I’ve been asked by many folks, “What does Cisco have in store for mobility at Interop?” I will keep this short by asking you to tune into the video that gives you a little taste of what is to come. Stop by the Cisco pavillion (booth #1719) or phone me on my mobile (listed in Media Relations Contacts) , and we will hang out, Vegas style!

  1. I believe a possible future operations endeavor for Cisco in regards to the teleworker and remote access is to create a device which makes use of WiMAX (Clear/Sprint partnership) and its own (Cisco/Linksys) WiFi to compete with the 3G carriers Novatel's MiFi .A the same time Cisco should move into the LTE/WiFi / 4G space for remote access as that is right around the corner.By integrating the WiMAX chipset to the same Novatel device (with either EVDO/HSDPA) then using a client access of either 2 X 2 MiMO (802.11n) WiFi or 3 X 3 MiMo, Cisco will strongly position itself as the leader into of the IP enhanced 4G Next Generation , Intelligent Information Networker.I also see options of having this small form WiMAX-Fi / 4G-WiFi"" device with support for the CAPWAP standards, capable of using solar power, and yes being able to use the mesh on using the WiFi."
