Cisco Unified Conferencing Milestones
Cisco’s overarching objective is to create a unified user experience across our entire collaboration portfolio from IM to web conferencing to immersive TelePresence. We want to deliver the highest quality and most consistent experience to all users.
Cisco’s portfolio of collaboration infrastructure includes call control, conferencing, enterprise edge and management; and we are consistently delivering advancements across all of these key areas.
Today I’d like to talk specifically about Cisco Unified Conferencing, a big step towards delivering a unified collaboration architecture. Unified Conferencing brings together transcoding, switching and web-enabled conferencing under the orchestration of Cisco TelePresence Conductor.
Unified Conferencing will deliver the next-generation experience to our customers; and addresses the main concerns our customers have when moving to pervasive video: ease of use, reliability, scalability, any to any collaboration, and return on investment.
At Enterprise Connect 2012 Cisco demonstrated three advancements in the Unified Conferencing strategy:
• New screen lay outs optimized for mobile devices like an iPad or CIUS
• Broader reach for ad-hoc conferencing
• Additional support for the video-enabled Cisco IP Phone 9900 and audio on the 7900 series in switched environments
These Unified Conferencing milestones further strengthen our strategy around unifying conferencing and connecting users, anywhere, via any device, at any time.
