Secrets to Cisco’s Continued Growth in Asia Pacific
Previously I wrote about how we’d won the “Best Carrier Ethernet Aggregation Product” award with the Cisco ASR 9000 System at Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Amsterdam. This momentum continues on the other side of the globe where Alex Zinin, our Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific theatre recently accepted several awards at the annual Telecom Asia Readers Choice Awards 2011:
- Core Network Vendor of the Year
- Metro Network Vendor of the Year
- Carrier Ethernet Vendor of the Year
In addition to the Reader’s Choice achievement, the ASR 9000 won a second “Best Carrier Ethernet Aggregation Product” from the APAC Carrier Ethernet Awards. Now deployed in over 900 customers worldwide, this was another endorsement of our Carrier Ethernet strategy and the cost benefits associated with Cisco Network Virtualization (nV) technology.
These wins are a testament to how Cisco’s technology and innovations, industry positioning, and ability to capture market direction have been instrumental in our success across the network. Furthermore, they show how our emphasis on architectures, not point products, is what’s helping our service provider partners be more profitable, manage their cost basis, and help them to grow and monetize their networks.
