EDGE QUEST – Let the Final Round Begin!

June 17, 2008 - 6 Comments

After our first announcement, more than 40 thousand players have taken the EdgeQuest challenge, and now it’s time for the top registered scorers to move on to the final Tournament of Aces and play for a chance to win $10,000, a”signature edition” of an Cisco ASR 1002 router, and earn the bragging rights to the title of”Edge Master.” It’s been a lot of fun. We’re proud of the Cisco ASR 1000 series and some of the new ways we’ve started to engage the market as a result of taking these products to market. We’ve enjoyed some of the great feedback from Paul Young at Product Beautiful, Scott Johnson at MyExtraLife, Craig Matsumoto at Light Reading (here’s hoping you can get past the first level next time, Craig-!) and others. To add some intrigue to the tournament, for all of you gamers, we’ve created 4 never seen before levels that are sure to challenge your skills (don’t worry, if you didn’t make it into the tournament you’ll have a chance to check out these new levels by the end of the month). So, at this point, there are likely two main questions to answer as we get ready for the next round:first announcement

Did you make it to the final round’?An email was sent to the email addresses associated with all of the qualifying registered scores. If you think you may have missed the email go to the game page and enter the email address that you registered your game score with into the ‘Qualification Checker’ widget and find out if you’ve qualified – I made it! Now what?First of all, congratulations to you -there are more than 39,900 others who wish they were as fortunate. The final round now starts at 9am PT on Thursday, June 19th (keep a look out in your inbox for a link to the tournament version of the game going out on June 19th). After which you will have 24-hours to play three times. You must register before each play and only your first three plays will be considered, so lock your door, brew coffee brewed, and gear up before you get your game on. The highest score will be the one considered for the winning prize. For the official terms and conditions and legal details (if you’re into that), click here.

Lastly, don’t forget to check out the podcasts to get the tips and tricks to make sure your strategy is set to maximize the power of the ASR! Thanks to all for playing, and to our finalists, good luck!. Live long and network.

  1. Hi Robbie -- after a fair amount of paperwork, we were able to announce the winner last week -- .Thanks for playing, hope you enjoyed it, and stay tuned to some other opportunities coming later this year!

  2. Does anyone know who won the big prize? I have given up hope here. What was everyone's highest score?

  3. Neat little game. I played my first money round today and did okay. I was planning on playing my other two rounds later in the day, but when I logged back in with the link that was in my email I was greeted with a nice error message that in effect said that all three of my chances had been played. ?:(Ah well. It was fun anyway.

  4. I also finished the money round. I may not have done very well but I had a lot of fun.

  5. I just finished my money round and let me say it was challenging and fun at the same time. This is the first time ever I have been able to play a free"" game and learn about a product and possibly win prizes. I think Cisco really did a great job on this new concept of gaming and promotion of new products. Cisco RULES!!!!"

  6. Hello Doug,Wow, I can't believe it! Out of almost 40,000 other people, I qualified for the top 100. I look forward to competing in the next round on Thursday, June 19. At first when I played this game I highly doubted that I would even make it to the finals. After a while, I was able to figure out the patterns in the game and use certain features to maximize my score. I hope to gain the title of Edge Master""! Good luck to all contestants."
