Live from Cisco Networkers Bahrain!

March 16, 2010 - 1 Comment

For the first time ever, Cisco Networkers is taking place in the Middle East, at a very special location.   The event will be held at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), home to the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, from 28 – 31 March, 2010 under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, The Crown Prince.

Join us live inside Cisco Live & Networkers Virtual for the featured keynote on Monday 29 March, where you can hear Executive Vice President, Cisco Services & Chief Globalization Officer, Wim Elfrink, talk about how technology is helping drive unparalleled innovation and economic growth in the Middle East.

As Mr. Wim Elfrink discusses the vision for Bahrain 2030 and the Middle East, another special guest will join him.   Cisco’s Senior Vice President of Emerging Technologies, Marthin De Beer, will be joining the demonstration from San Jose, California via 3D TelePresence to discuss the future of video and collaboration. Technology keynotes at Cisco are anything but ordinary.    Virtual presenting is the next step forward in the virtual meetings progression.   This is not simply a video screen on a stage, speaking to the audience.   This is full collaboration between speaker and audience.

Marilyn Mersereau, Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing of Cisco Systems, recently spoke at the ANA (Association of National Advertisers) TV & Everything Video Forum.   Marilyn presented virtually, using the same technology being implemented during the Bahrain keynote.   I recently had the opportunity to listen to Marilyn speak about her experience with the virtual presenter technology.  She mentioned how she was able to easily interact with the audience, commenting on audience members’ expressions and noting how they were still trying to dry off from the wet weather that day.   Clearly the right day to be presenting virtually.   You can watch highlights of Marilyn Mersereau’s virtual presentation here.

Be sure to log onto CiscoLiveVirtual.com at 6:30am PT (4:30pm local Bahrain) for the full keynote experience. His Royal Highness, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, The Crown Prince, will be attending the event in person.  This is a special keynote that should not be missed!
