Cisco Live, You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet

- June 30, 2010 - 0 Comments

It was an amazing day at Cisco Live. With dynamic keynotes, engaging executive chats, interactive panel discussions, oh and a couple of little announcements. 😉

During the keynote Cisco announced Cius (“see us”, get it?), a business tablet meant to deliver on the promise of Cisco’s Collaboration, Virtualization and Borderless Networks architectures. This game changer was all the talk on Twitter and during the executive chat with Carlos Dominguez.

Another major announcement was the Cisco Home Energy Controller (HEC) is a countertop display that communicates with other intelligent home devices to optimize in-home energy management. Through the HEC’s LCD touch screen, the user has insight and control over peripheral devices such as thermostats, intelligent sockets and, ultimately, smart appliances like refrigerators and water heaters.

Lastly the iPrize winner was announced. Watch it all for yourself now below.

But we aren’t done yet, just getting started at Cisco Live and day two is just an evening away!

A special activity planned for tomorrow is coming from our Learning@Cisco team. In their virtual booth Bruno Van De Werve, a certifications expert, will be available for a live chat session at 2:45pm. With all these new product announcements keeping certification credentials fresh is key to keeping on top of your game so join Bruno and ask him your certification questions. But that is just the top of the iceberg of what is on tap for tomorrow.

We kick off 30 June with another Cisco Press Conference at 8am PT followed by Padmasree Warrior’s technology keynote. After Padmasree’s keynote you will have the opportunity to engage with her during a live executive chat. Then in the afternoon there is an interactive panel discussion on Public Sector Architecture. After the panel two Super Sessions take place: one on Borderless Networkers featuring John McCool , Senior Vice President/General Manager, Data Center, Switching and Services Group, Cisco and another on What’s Next with Video featuring Marthin De Beer, Senior Vice President, Emerging Technologies Group, Cisco. After the super sessions you will have a chance to ask Marthin questions during a live executive chat.
