Things happen, we get it. The most seemingly innocuous incident can set off a chain of events that brings your business to a halt. And that can translate to thousands of dollars in lost revenue—not to mention unhappy customers—until you fix the problem.

Life’s unpredictable—you can’t prepare for everything that might happen to your business. Yet, you can protect one of your businesses most important and valuable assets: your network.

When your network is down, your business is down

How can you protect your network 24/7?  With a warranty. We have them for our cars, refrigerators, dishwashers…the list goes on and on. It’s time to talk about them for our networking infrastructure. A warranty that covers your hardware is more important than ever, given the reliance businesses today have on their networks for employee productivity, customer service, and, in many cases, direct revenue. Plus, it gives you peace of mind knowing that your network—the lifeblood of your business—is covered.

Smart business owners know that any downtime can mean not just lost revenue, but lost customers—and it’s often not just a one day event. SMBs can’t afford to have their network go down—their reputation is at stake. A warranty is an essential cost of ownership.

Here are three reasons why having a Cisco enhanced limited lifetime warranty is worth it:

  • Enable efficient installation – 90 days of TAC supports getting the device up and running in your network smoothly and quickly.
  • Save time and money—Cisco offers next-day business delivery (for hardware failures identified before 3 p.m., eastern), which means less downtime for your business. The quicker you receive your equipment, the sooner your business is back up and running.
  • Enjoy peace of mind—Knowing that you are covered allows you to focus on other pressing business needs. Reduce the drama and aggravation of network downtime with an enhanced warranty from Cisco.

Still undecided? Not sure that a warranty is the right move for your business? Take a look at this video, which shows how one innocent action can result in a complete network shutdown.

Watch the whimsical video when the unthinkable happens! In the end, Cisco saves the day and delivers a replacement the next business day.

We recently heard from several Cisco customers who took time out of their busy schedules to tell us why they are warranty fans. Here’s what a few of them had to say on our SpiceWorks community:

We purchase Smart Net for all of our Cisco gear—from routers and switches to our Call Manager and UCS servers. If the hardware is critical, we always go with support.

We have Smart Net on all of our Cisco gear, and it saved our hide recently when we lost a key piece of equipment. It was on my doorstep almost before I got to the office the next day. (Literally: I came in early to meet the truck, thinking I had 30 minutes before it arrived to take care of my normal start-of-day routine, and the truck pulled in right behind me.) Put my backup config on and we were off and running before everyone else got in that day.

It always happens—buy the warranty, and you’ll never need it; but skip the warranty, and you’ll wish you had it! My office always opts for warranties/service agreements to make sure we are always covered when things hit the fan. A major reason why we switched to (Cisco) for our network is because of the way they handle service agreements.

Networking gear is where we always keep our warranties. If our main router or firewall goes down, it’s critical to have it back up as soon as possible. We use it for all Meraki Cisco APs, and we love the turn around.

We have Cisco Meraki hardware that we upgraded to in the fall/early winter of 2016. Lifetime hardware warranty it is. Thank you very much, Cisco!!!

I’ve been burned several times by managers trying to save money only to have to scramble when things go sideways. I never buy any computer equipment without a warranty.

All of our new Cisco equipment (ASAs and switches are on Smart Net). I’ll never buy new production equipment without a warranty.

There you are. Real comments from real users. Still not convinced? Read more about what others say about their experience with purchasing the Cisco Warranty.

Tell us your experience with warranties. What is your experience? Was it worth it?
