What’s the Next Big Idea?

- February 12, 2010 - 1 Comment

Recently, the Collaboration blog posted details about the new Cisco I-Prize contest which is a global contest inviting entrepreneurs around the world to come up with the next big idea. Oh, and there’s a $250,000 prize to the winner.

Idea Guy Marc Lewis’ formula for creativity would definitely come in handy here. What innovative solutions, disruptive technologies, and life-changing ideas will come into our lives next? Maybe someone will create a device to predict the future.

Last year, team AKS beat out 2,500 competitors and took the I-Prize for its Intelligent Home Power System — a result of collaborating with a great team, execution, and brilliant idea generation.

This year, the contest will solicit your ideas in four key areas:

  • The future of work
  • The connected life
  • New ways to learn
  • The future of entertainment

Head over to the I-Prize site to register and visit the contest Facebook page to watch videos and get updates.

In an effort to keep conversations fresh, Cisco Blogs closes comments after 60 days. Please visit the Cisco Blogs hub page for the latest content.

Secondly how are you going to compete with your copy cats once they come along, because they will. Third, financing, because unlike oracle, I can't afford to pay a quarter million for a new idea. I wrote a post about it in more details here. The fact that a company can go from nothing to a giant in 4 years on the internet amazes me..."
