Want the Latest Partner News in One Place? There’s an App for That

- June 23, 2011 - 7 Comments

If you’re like the nearly 30% of mobile workers who check their smartphones every six-to-12 minutes during downtime – for those doing the math, that’s nearly 80 times a day provided that you’re not checking during work hours or in your sleep—you want easy ways to help you keep up with the latest news and info.

Now there’s a way to keep track of the latest Cisco partner news from your phone: the new Cisco Partners app. It’s available to all iPhone and Android mobile devices users for free!

The Cisco Partners app gives you access to late-breaking Cisco partner news, how-to articles, tips, program updates, the most current blog posts, and our video library – all at your fingertips. Plus, you can share with friends and colleagues using social media.

Ready for a quick tour of the new Cisco Partners app?
Click the thumbnails below to view full size

Cisco Partners App Homepage: Once you launch the Cisco Partners app, you’ll see four icons: Blog, Videos, News, and About. These icons give you access to the Channels Blog, the Channels video library, the official Channels news feed, and information about the app.

Blog: Click the Blog icon to check out our latest Channels blogs with news, insights, social media tips, partner stories, and best practices. You can also view the most recent and most viewed Cisco blogs. Social media is integrated, too, so you can “like” the blog on Facebook or retweet a post on Twitter, all right from your phone.

Video: Want to catch up on our Partner Update newscast, watch our partner interviews, or just browse through all of our videos? All of them are available within the video icon on the app’s home page.

News: See what we’re reading around the Web and stay up-to-date with the latest partner news via the News icon. Access the official Channels news feed to read coverage on trade sites, top channel publications, and to view the Channels blog archive.

Now that you know how to use it, download the app

  1. I would love to have access to it on my BlackBerry!! I just can't see myself with an iPhone. My BB rules!! oups! Did I say that out loud! I think having the app for BlackBerry would be awesome. Most of our people are on BB.

    • Thanks for sending in another vote for a Cisco Partners app for the Blackberry. We are taking note of all feedback and requests. Stay tuned!

  2. super app - will it be available on Blackberry anytime soon??

    • Thanks! We're starting off with Android and iPhone, but if we get enough requests, there could be a Blackberry app as well.

  3. ok, here's a quick follow up. Finding this exact post on the iphone App could not have been easier. i literally just clicked on the "blog" button and i saw this as one of the topics. My only feedback/criticism is that you can not comment on the posts through the app. That is one of my favorite things about Cisco's blogs (and blogs in general) is that you can interact with other people that are interested in the same things as you. I'm sure you guys will modify the app sometime soon and give it the capability to comment on posts.

    • Thanks so much for reading and for your feedback. You can scroll to the bottom of each blog post in the app and either share it via Twitter or Facebook, but being able to leave comments on the posts is a great suggestion. This is just the first iteration, and we'll be making updates based on feedback. If you think of anything else, please let us know.

  4. So i read this post and then went and downloaded the Cisco Partner app on my IPHONE. the reason i believe that this will be such a useful app is because i love reading your blogs. Now i can access them whenever i want from wherever i want (and even join in on the conversation). I haven't actually tried the app out yet so i don't have any feedback. I'm going to submit this comment and then turn away from my computer. i am going to go into the App from my phone and try and find this exact topic and post another comment here from my phone. in that post i will explain how easy or not easy this app is to use.... if you don't see any other comments from me, then you know it is not as easy as they say :)
