Partner Voices: The Power of 3: Cisco, EMC, and VCE

- September 18, 2015 - 1 Comment

There’s nothing like the energy of more than 25,000 people in San Francisco talking technology over the course of three days, like VMWorld 2015. And now that I’ve had a couple of weeks to let the dust settle and reflect back, it’s the successful relationships with our partners that remains top of mind and defines Cisco’s success.

For me, the focus on our partnerships with EMC and VCE once again demonstrated that both customers and partners are excited about not only our past successes, but more importantly, where we are going and the work we’ll be doing together in the future.

Fifteen years and more than 70,000 mutual customers later, EMC and Cisco remain global technology leaders because of our commitment to customers, leading technology, and support. And if traffic in the Cisco booth at VMworld is any indication, it’s very clear there’s still a buzz.

Add VCE to the mix, whose Vblock with Cisco ACI continues to help customers, and the result is a ‘Power of 3” providing leading Storage (EMC), Networking (Cisco) and Converged Infrastructure (VCE) solutions.

Power of Three

Today IT organizations must deliver more services with speed and agility while managing exponential data growth and operating within constrained, even reduced budgets. At the same time, data centers are increasingly consuming infrastructure to keep up with the rapidly evolving and growing demand for the new services and applications.

Our joint solutions are enabled through both transformational and traditional architectures.  They bring together best-of-breed products and solutions into a complete data center design that can enhance your current investment and adapt to meet your future needs.  Learn more about how partners leverage our Integrated Partner Solutions to meet their business needs.

A couple of examples of this joint success is best told through customer stories.  Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants and CenturyLink are just two of the many that have benefited significantly from the partnerships of Cisco, EMC and VCE.

Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, the largest chain of boutique hotels in the United States, highlighted how VCE Vblock provided them the scale they needed for rapid business expansion that helped the business plan for the future.  With the VCE Vblock solutions in place, Kimpton is able to respond to the needs of the business in a predictable, responsive and seamless manner, which in-turn contributes to their customer’s experience.

CenturyLink, an American, multinational communications company, provides communications and data services to customers in more than 36 states and across the globe.  As a VCE Partner and Systems Integrator, CenturyLink described the managed services offerings they provide to their customers using VCE Vblock converged infrastructure.  As a proof point, they shared how their customer, Intercontinental Hotels Group, deployed a private cloud environment leveraging VCE Converged Infrastructure, resulting in reduced delivery times, 25% application performance improvement and an 81% lower cost of deployment.

Shared Cloud Vision

We’re not resting on our laurels – if we don’t disrupt, we’ll be disrupted. The EMC, VCE, and Cisco partnership has also developed a shared and common Cloud Vision of how cloud technologies will support customers.  We share deep, continuing complementary technology goals, investments, and products, including interoperability and performance testing.

For Partners

By enabling our partners integrated routes to market through the Cisco Partner Ecosystem  we know our greatest success is really our partners’ success. Look for even more as the ‘Power of 3’ charges ahead.

The 25,000+ plus at VMworld confirmed what we know – that three organizations can tackle the right technology challenges to deliver partners a successful route to market.
