October is the month for all things pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, beautiful fall foliage and…you guessed it, cybersecurity.  October is recognized as Cybersecurity Awareness Month in many regions around the world. The designation was launched as an educational initiative to help safeguard our online lives. In 2020, the rapid and unprecedented shift towards remote work and virtual schooling makes having a comprehensive cybersecurity conversation even more important. And for you, our partners, it’s a great opportunity to engage with your customers and continue to discuss their evolving security concerns.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month has weekly themes and this week’s is “If You Connect It, Protect It.” While most of us are busy managing a working from home schedule, taking a minute to reflect on how we can keep our devices secure is important. According to the 2019 Verizon Data Breach Report, 80% of security breaches involve compromised passwords. One quick and easy way companies can secure their remote workforce from breaches due to compromised credentials is by adding in multi-factor authentication. Cisco Duo’s multi-factor authentication (MFA) and device trust is a great start for customers to secure their workforce on their zero-trust journey. In fact, Cisco was recently named a leader in the Forrester Wave™: Zero Trust eXtended Ecosystem Platform Providers, Q3 2020 report. Check out our latest blog to learn more about the report findings.

Throughout the month of October make sure you continue to check out our Cybersecurity Awareness Month hub for new content, blogs, and eBooks.
