Final Thoughts from Cisco Marketing Velocity 2014

It has been a busy week here in Chicago at Cisco Marketing Velocity 2014. It is great to see so many of you at an event that brings together such innovative marketing professionals. I hope you enjoyed your time in Chicago and learned a lot. I am always amazed by the incredible things our partners are doing, so it definitely helps me to meet with you and hear what’s on your mind.

As we finish up in Chicago, I want to leave you with this video. I had the opportunity to sit down and speak with David Durham on our Global Partner Marketing team. Where do we go from here?

Coming out of Marketing Velocity 2014 I am starting a new, fun series based on the marketing superheroes introduced at the event. We all love superheroes right?

Let’s face it, “business as usual” is gone and we all need to access our super powers to make this unprecedented pace of change in our industry an advantage for us in marketing. Of course, we are having a little fun with the idea of these attributes being super powers, but make no mistake; these attributes are exactly what let all of us deliver better business outcomes to the customer.

As such, during the next few months, I will spend some time talking individually about the five superheroes we introduced to you at Cisco Marketing Velocity:

  • Wonder Vision – The power to see what no one yet can see
  • Alchemist – The power to blend art with science in a way no one can ignore
  • Super Voice – The power to reach millions at the same time
  • Data Man – The power to turn piles of data into competitive insights and deliver real marketing value
  • Mega Mentor – The power to get the most from others

A lot of you already see or use some of these super powers in your daily work, but it’s the ability to get these superheroes to work together that let you step up and take a larger and more strategic role in the enterprise.
