Congratulations: Steve Benvenuto Named a 2015 CRN Channel Chief

- February 24, 2015 - 0 Comments

As Bruce mentioned yesterday, CRN has named six Cisco executives as Channel Chiefs for 2015. As such, I am offering short takes this week on each of the named executives that Bruce mentioned. It’s a chance for you to get to know these executives a little better. Up next is Steve Benvenuto.

Steve Benvenuto
Steve and his team are responsible for the Cisco Partner Ecosystem programs. Steve himself has a wealth of go to market business development and program innovation experience, and he’s been leading the Cisco Partner Ecosystem programs since 2012. Steve has been with Cisco since 1999.

As many of you have personally experienced lately, Steve has delivered new incentives to help partners move to hybrid IT. He led the launch of the Cisco Solution Partner program that many of you are familiar with. Steve has enhanced our specialization portfolio with three new vertically focused specializations.

These changes, and many others, have helped Cisco partners capture opportunities unrealized previously. With those opportunities, especially the Internet of Everything (IoE) opportunities, newer partner types, such as ISVs and software developers are really cashing in under Steve’s watch.

Steve will continue growing the Cisco Partner Ecosystem as his number one priority. He wants to help you help yourself. This is a lesson learned from his favorite movie, Jerry Maguire. Steve says he loved Jerry Maguire for a few reasons. First, he’s a sports fanatic, so the setting of the movie is of great interest to him. Second, he loves the art of negotiation and Jerry Maguire is a great agent for his clients. Finally, there are numerous quotes from the movie that apply to everyday life, not the least of which is, “Help me, help you.”

Let me know in the comments section if you have any questions or thoughts you’d like to share with Steve!
