Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind – July 2, 2015
Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco Partner Ecosystem news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:
Since the United States July 4 holiday has me out tomorrow, the Weekly Rewind this week is being posted today, on July 2. For those of you here in the U.S., I hope you have a great holiday weekend! We will be back on our normal schedule next week!
Off the Top
Denny Trevett was at Red Hat Summit 2015 last week and he brought us all a recap on the Partner Blog this week. Denny provided a pretty great rundown of what it’s like to be at the event. Be sure to read his recap and give us your thoughts on the event as well. We always love to hear from partners!
Cisco IoT System
Big news this week as well from Andres Sintes, who brought us a complete breakdown of the Cisco IoT System launch. As Cisco continues to expand its portfolio within the Internet of Things (IoT) you’ll continue to see more from us in this space. The new Cisco IoT System really lets partners innovate in IoT. Want to know just how? Check out Andres’ blog!
CRN Highlights Cisco
I saw a couple of great stories from Mark Haranas at CRN this week. There was great news for Cisco in both.
In the first story, Cisco Dives Deep into IoT With New Products, Framework, Mark took a look at how Cisco is bulking up its Internet of Things portfolio with a lot of new IoT products and a new framework that should accelerate partner adoption in the emerging marketplace. It is an in-depth look at the IoT moves Cisco’s been making lately. I recommend giving it a read.
Mark came back the next day with Cisco Launches New ACI Program For Partners To Build Apps, New Services Around SDN which takes a look at the ACI Rotation Program. The two week ACI Rotation Program lets partners work directly with ACI engineers and technical marketing teams. Be sure to check this one out too.
Mark did a great job highlighting two different approaches from Cisco that really amp up partner profitability.
New types of partners spark channel alliance opportunities
SearchITChannel’s Lynn Haber put together a nice piece this week as well in which she explores partnering in the channel community. She also points out the vendor’s role in a channel alliance.
According to Lynn, “For the past few years, Cisco was not only a leader in creating a broader partner ecosystem but has also been on the forefront of encouraging relationships between different partner types.”
We couldn’t agree more and I hope you find the time to read Lynn’s full article!
