Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind – July 18, 2014
Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco partner news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:
Off the Top
Big joint announcement this week from Cisco and Microsoft! Denny Trevett posted about the implications of the announcement of a three-year go-to-market agreement between us and Microsoft that creates new opportunities for Cisco channel partners and Microsoft system integrators.
We are still evolving the Cisco Partner Ecosystem with the goal of helping our partners navigate these changes, achieve profitable growth and deliver the business outcomes our customers demand. The Microsoft announcement is an example of Cisco working to take it’s data center alliance with Microsoft to a higher level.
Be sure to check out Denny’s blog and let us know what you think.
Comstor and Presidio offer Cisco-Powered Cloud Managed Services for VARs
We always like to highlight partners who solve issues using Cisco technology. When we have a distributor and a partner teaming up to support solution providers with managed services alongside Cisco-powered cloud offerings, well, even better!
In case you missed it, back in June, Comstor announced they were teaming up with Presidio to create a white-label cloud offering. That program tied together Comstor’s “Powered By Peak” offering, a white-label Cisco-powered Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering from Peak, with managed services from Presidio, Cisco’s 2013 Partner of the Year for U.S./Canada Enterprise.
For a full explanation of the announcement, be sure to check out an in-depth article by Sarah Kuranda on CRN. In her article, Sarah speaks with David McNicholas of Comstor. David is the U.S. Director of strategic business development and he told Sarah that he doesn’t think there’s another offer like this one in the market. In addition, Kelly Teal has an additional article on channelpartnersonline.com that may be of interest to you as well. Give both articles a look and let us know what you think about this latest partnership in the comments section below!
