3 Ways Cisco is Helping Partners with Social Media

- January 18, 2011 - 2 Comments

Did you know that:

  • If Facebook were a country, it would be the third largest.
  • 34% of bloggers post opinions about products and brands.
  • You Tube is the second-largest search engine in the world.
  • 50% of mobile Internet traffic in the UK is to Facebook (imagine what it means for bad customer experiences).
  • 78% of consumers trust peer recommendations.

Those stats came from this video, which is what I usually show someone who’s on the fence about social media.

You may be off the fence and ready to get started with social media, but you can’t decide whether to focus on Twitter. Or You Tube videos? Facebook fan pages? LinkedIn Groups? The sheer number of options is enough to drive any sane person crazy.

While the Channels blog can’t offer a magic social media bullet, we can give you the tools and advice you need to reach customers and do your social media best.

Here are three ways we’re helping you with your social media practice:

1) Bringing in the experts!
The first expert is Brian Solis who will join us for an online broadcast on January 27 at 7:30 a.m. PST. Brian is a social media expert, top blogger, and esteemed “Engage” author. He’s here to answer your questions and share ways to be a social media success. (You can post questions right below in the blog comments or wait for the live broadcast.) This online broadcast is free for partners, so secure your spot today.

2) We’re blogging just for you!
What do you want to know? Do you want help with Twitter? Not sure how to create a blogging strategy? Curious about SEO? Whatever your questions, big or small, whatever advice or information you’d like around social media, drop us a line here on the blog and ask. We’re creating webinars, new blog posts, and doing video interviews just for you.

3) Partner Velocity.
We’ve got replays from the Partner Velocity event in Barcelona where we hosted experts galore who covered all facets of marketing and social media. Check out our ever-growing playlist of our Partner Velocity interviews and visit the Partner Velocity site to watch in-depth replays from all of the sessions from the most recent event.

So go ahead! Ask those questions. Post those comments. We’re here to help.

In an effort to keep conversations fresh, Cisco Blogs closes comments after 60 days. Please visit the Cisco Blogs hub page for the latest content.

  1. I was fortunate enough to attend Partner Velocity event in Barcelona and was very impressed with the event as well as how Cisco continues to keep its channel partners engaged. Initiatives like this make us at General Datatech proud to be a Cisco Gold VAR. Keep it up guys! Eric Hubbard General Datatech Facebook: Twitter:

    • Thanks for the comment and compliment, Eric! Glad you could make it to Velocity. We've also got a lot of Virtual Velocity events planned, including the one we had yesterday with social media expert Brian Solis. Please do keep us apprised of what you're doing with marketing and social media. And keep the feedback coming/let us know ways that Cisco can help with your marketing efforts.
