Turning Kilometers Into Meters with Cisco TelePresence

September 28, 2009 - 18 Comments

What’s the distance between Budapest, Hungary and Podgorica in Montenegro?

Well, in reality, it’s approximately 674 kilometers, or 419 miles. However, if you happen to work at Magyar Telekom in Budapest, that distance becomes merely 20 meters. How is that possible? Cisco TelePresence, of course.

Earlier this year, we announced that Magyar Telekom has implemented Cisco TelePresence virtual meeting rooms to connect its head office in Hungary with the company’s southeast European subsidiaries, Makedonski Telekom (Macedonia) and Crnogorski Telekom (Montenegro).

In the meantime, the company has several other TelePresence rooms deployed. So, if you walk into Magyar Telekom’s headquarters, this is what you will see:

  12. Incredible, new technologi make the world be small, everyone can meet another

  13. This is amazing. What will they think up next?

  14. Great article.Cisco TelePresence make the world look so so small.

  15. Really interesting stuff! New technology is changing our world so much.

  16. That is pretty cool. It almost reminds me of the country song where the singer remembers being a kid and just wishing he could watch TV on long car rides. How different would the world be if this techonology was present, 5, 10 or even 20 years ago.

  17. This is truly incredible, sometimes I have a hard time imagining how hard/complex it was to conduct any type of business 15-20 years ago. New technology never seizes to amaze me. Social Media Marketing
