Last month at the Cisco Collaboration Summit in Phoenix we announced the relaunch of Cisco Webex, showcasing innovative capabilities that make virtual meetings more natural and make working together easier than ever before.

And today we begin sharing the story with the world by kicking off a new marketing campaign highlighting how working together is instinctively human. And there is no one better to help us introduce this than Millie Bobby Brown. One of the most talented actresses today, Millie’s universal appeal brings people together – on and off the screen – making her the perfect choice to introduce technology designed to do the same.

Millie has risen to fame in the past few years as a lead protagonist on the most popular streaming show in the world, Netflix’s award-winning series Stranger Things. Her character on the show is all about collaboration as she uses her gifts to connect and communicate with people within and between worlds. She has received an Emmy nomination and two SAG nominations on behalf of her individual performance in the series. Next March, she will make her feature film debut starring in the highly anticipated blockbuster Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Off-screen, Millie is known for her ability to inspire, connect, and collaborate with people. She recently became the youngest person ever to make the prestigious TIME 100 List of Most Influential People. As we continue to keep the Cisco brand fresh and unexpected, Millie represents us in a new light to a new generation.

Millie also represents Cisco in another way: our passion to increase the number of women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). It’s reflected in the 300,000+ women enrolled in the Cisco Networking Academy program. It’s also why we’ve committed to the #SeeHer movement to see more women portrayed accurately in the media. In this day and age when more girls need to see strong women on screen – particularly in the tech industry – we were deliberate in our choice of one of the strongest female role models today to tell this story for us.

As always, telling our Webex story doesn’t end with choosing the right spokesperson. Building on the success of our previous campaigns, There’s Never Been a Better Time and The Network. Intuitive., we have designed a digital experience to help people see how working in a more human way can help them achieve more. Reaching customers digitally through content partnerships with media such as Bloomberg, events such as the Cisco Collaboration Summit, and of course socially through all the platforms. And with your help spreading the word, we’re confident everyone will see and hear the benefits of how to make working together through technology more human.

As Millie puts it so beautifully in the video, when the right technology and the right people come together, amazing things can happen.

We hope you’ll join Millie and us as we share this video and the Cisco Webex story with the world using the hashtag #CiscoWebex.

This is Cisco Webex, the more intuitive way to work.
