Perspective on What We’re Hearing from Australian Public Sector Customers

- March 30, 2011 - 2 Comments

Ken Boal, Director for Public Sector for Cisco Australia and New Zealand, highlights what is top of mind for public sector customers – including health, education and government.

He provides insight on the changing public sector landscape which he views as shifting from economic stimulus to fiscal tightening. He elaborates on these changes in three areas:

  • IT optimisation – Doing more with less, which is driving consolidation of infrastructure and stimulating discussions on how applications are best delivered
  • Delivering services where citizens live – This is being driven by the greater need for access to information and services anywhere and anytime
  • Keeping up with the rapid pace of innovation – Largely stimulated by need for services in areas where resources (e.g., teachers, doctors) are limited

Check out the video for more of Ken’s insights on the above.

  2. Yeah right! I don't think anyone could ever keep up with innovation - as soon as a new idea comes out, there is another close behind.. Its simply constant! Mary
