New Year, New Facebook Programs!

January 5, 2012 - 2 Comments

We kick off the new year with our SuperFans of the Year and a new photo-sharing program!

It’s been over a year since we launched the  SuperFan program on the Cisco Corporate Facebook page and with much success – from the level of submissions and engagement from our fans, to the recognition and coverage on various social media blog outlets. To kick off the New Year, we are bestowing the inaugural Cisco SuperFan of the Year award to Dimitar Krstevski and Sandee Weiner! They were chosen based on their level of engagement with the Cisco Facebook page and votes from the community.   Big congrats and thank you!

Given the success of the SuperFan program, we are offering our fans another way to engage with us with the launch of our new photo sharing program titled, “Where in the World Do You Take Cisco?” We want to spotlight our fans and their experiences with Cisco products, technologies and the brand.  Submit YOUR photos that capture everywhere and anywhere you take Cisco! Along with your photo, we also ask that you include a written description in 100 words or less that helps narrate the story behind your photo or image. Need help uploading your photos? Take a look at the Flickr Group FAQ page.

The program launches TODAY so start submitting your photos! For more information on “Where in the World Do You Take Cisco?” check out the program guidelines as well as the terms and conditions. You can also check out all of the submitted photos on our Cisco Facebook Flickr Tab. Looking forward to seeing your photos!!

More on our Cisco SuperFans of the Year:

Dimitar is from Gevgelija, Macedonia and was our very first Cisco SuperFan! We originally chose Dimitar as our first Cisco SuperFan for his continued engagement on our Facebook page as well as his awesome photo submission in Cisco’s 3D glasses. Dimitar also received the highest amount of votes from our Facebook community. After hearing that he was named the Cisco SuperFan of the Year, Dimitar stated exclaimed, “being a Facebook fan is one thing, being a Cisco SuperFan is quite another, and now Cisco SuperFan of the Year, amazing!”

Sandee was our second Cisco SuperFan to be named and her fun personality definitely shown through on the Cisco Facebook page! We also thought her dedicated “fishcam” network was pretty awesome. Powered by Cisco, the “fishcam” uses a router and powerline AV Ethernet adopted to connect her home LAN to the internet, where fish enthusiasts from around the world can watch 6 of her 18 saltwater, freshwater and reed tanks – from anywhere anytime! Talk about using the Cisco network for some awesome and creative stuff!

Congrats to our Cisco SuperFans of the Year and make sure you start submitting your photos for the Where in the World Do You Take Cisco? photo program!

  1. Congratulations both of you on being CISO (Super) Fan. I love Cisco indeed. Since I had updated my network with CISCO product. I got more good feedback from my clients.

By the way, I’d like to be a (Super)fan next year. |0|

  2. VERY VERY proud of reaching SuperFan status with Cisco! I’m pretty passionate about technology and the way social collaboration brings folks together. FishCam has allowed me to connect with other *fish geeks* – impossible to do without live streaming video … it’s not like taking the dog out for a walk! 😉 Thanks again!

For 2012, I plan on upgrading my network and improving both the quality ‘n number of tanks displayed … with Cisco products of course!
