Integration of Linksys by Cisco Small Business

August 12, 2008 - 1 Comment

We have been focused on the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market for some time now and I wanted to point your attention to an announcement we made today around our SMB go-to-market strategy. In order to better meet the needs of small business customers and the channels partners that serve them, we are very pleased to share that Cisco is integrating the Linksys Partner Connection program into the Cisco Channel Partner Program. This includes bringing the Linksys by Cisco Business Series products into the Cisco small and medium-sized business (SMB) portfolio and giving our channel partners access to one of the largest SMB portfolios on the market today. The SMB market represents a tremendous growth opportunity for Cisco and its channel partners and we are committed to providing our customers and channel partners with a wide variety of technology options. SMB customers are nothing if not diverse and a broad portfolio helps partners win more customers. The SMB channel and technology integration is part of a broader company focus on the SMB opportunity with an increased emphasis on the small business segment of the SMB market. Internally, we are also aligning our leadership, having formed a Small Business Council earlier this summer. The Small Business Council is led by three Cisco veterans: Chief Marketing officer and executive vice president, Sue Bostrom, senior vice president of the Small Business Technology Group, Ian Pennell (famous within Cisco for launching the ISR), and senior vice president of Worldwide Channels Keith Goodwin. We would like to emphasis that we are committed to making this a smooth transition for Linksys small business channel partners and are excited about the expanded portfolio for existing channel partners. Just to clarify, Linksys will maintain their focus on driving growth and innovation in the consumer market. There will not be any changes to the Linksys consumer organization or solution offerings. Additional details can be found at: think today’s SMB go-to-market announcement is a great step forward as well as bringing together the Cisco and Linksys by Cisco solutions into one unified portfolio. We hope you feel the same.Post by Andrew Sage, Vice President of Small Business Sales, Worldwide Channels

  1. Your links here don't work ( says BAD URI"" (last I checked it was a Bad URL!)), gotta love that. This ""transition"" is going to cost Cisco business. You can't go to any more and find anything you're used to finding and is badly navigated that VARs will simply stop looking for product."
