Cisco Celebrates More Than 15 Years of CCIE Certification

March 23, 2010 - 16 Comments

To salute more than 15 years of its CCIE® certification and to gain insight into what digital infrastructures will look like over the next five years, Cisco commissioned the most comprehensive end-customer survey ever conducted of the international CCIE community. Jeanne Beliveau Dunn, general manager of Learning@Cisco, discusses the importance of CCIE Certification and the exciting contributions these distinguished individuals have made to the networking industry. Commissioned as part of Cisco’s overall 25th anniversary celebration, the research was conducted by Illuminas, a strategic research firm, to explore the unique perspective of some of the most knowledgeable and well-respected information technology professionals in the networking industry.

Highlights of Cisco’s first global CCIE Survey include:

– CCIE holders predict that security and risk management will be the skills most in demand over the next five years.

– The top green networking initiatives are expected to be energy efficiency in the data center followed by telepresence and teleworking.

– Of the nearly 1,000 CCIE holders who responded to the survey, 98 percent said they were employed, a testament to the quality of the certification even in a tight economy.

  2. Congratulation Cisco! For 15 years in this industry you made our life easier and faster. You have been a tool for us to communicate and established success in our lives. 😉

  3. Its great to know that cisco completed 15 years service, I am also cisco certified person, I am always happy to work with cisco

  4. Compared to what you get after the ceritification it`s not THAT expensive, somewhere around $9000. Especially considering the economy being tight; almost all of them have got jobs.

  5. CCIE is a great ceritification. Takes time to study and get, and quite expensive. Well worth it though and very appreacited by employers.

  6. Great post. Found these informations worthy as i am new to this post. That video is really informative. Thanks a bunch for sharing such an informative and interesting post with us. Keep blogging.

  8. Great to see how long this has been going.Sean @

  9. Too bad not all have a chance to hold such a certificate. Basicaly, with all companies’ certificates depends on which country you’re coming from, since many countries are not available

  10. Congratulations!I hope that you would gain more success in the coming years!,

  11. Love Cisco devision but it very expensive. People use lynksys!!!

  12. Those who succeed with the CCIE credentials belong to a very exclusive club. Since less than 3% of all Cisco certification holders actually become CCIE qualified you know it takes some very special ingredient. Congratulations for those with CCIE certification.

  13. Congrats to 15 years strong for Cisco. 98% employment in this economy means something.

  14. I can only agree with the 98% of the CCIE holders, that this certification helped me also a lot in my job career. The knowledge gathered through the very demanding certification process was of major value to me (and still is).

  15. 98 percent of employement on a recessive economy is really a big achievement to celebrate on this 15th aniversary of the certification program, congratulations !

  16. I’m really expecting what the communication future will look like in the next five years! Definitely Cisco is one of the parts that can make it better.
