Cisco@25: CTO, Padmasree Warrior’s Perspective on Innovation at Cisco
In the next Cisco@25 video blog series, Cisco’s CTO Padmasree Warrior shares her perspective on Cisco innovation and where she sees technology in the next 25 years.
Padmasree Warrior sees Cisco driving innovation and new ideas in phases. The first ideas come internally in the company, such as TelePresence. The second phase being outside of the company, such as Smart Grid. Warrior explains that Cisco “thinks of innovation as going hand-in-hand with operational excellence.” Drawing on innovation through these different phases helps Cisco stay competitive and relevant.
Looking 25 years ahead, Warrior envisions that many of the things we take for granted today such as, cars, power and cities, will all be reinvented and the role of the network is only going to be more important. Warrior explains that the “network has to evolve from simply being a foundation to becoming the glue between devices and how people will consume the application on those devices.”
