November 15, 2011 - 6 Comments

This week marks Cisco’s inaugural partner conference for Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China (APJC). Taking refuge from the sweltering heat and thunder storms, 350 hundred partners from across the region have arrived at Singapore’s Shangri La hotel to network, learn, share and have fun.

Day one of the conference kicked off with a presentation from Edzard Overbeek, President of Cisco APJC on how our region is far from slowing down and the great opportunities we have to show how well we’re doing.  In this FlipVideo clip you’ll hear the technology priorities that are top of mind with CIOs.

Then our host, Stanimira Koleva, Managing Director of Cisco’s Partner Business Group in APJC reinforced Cisco’s commitment to the Partner-Led strategy as a scalable go-to-market model that empowers and rewards channel partners to lead customer engagement in the small business and mid-market segments.

Cisco is investing US$75 million globally to accelerate the Partner Led model with US$15 million in the APJC region for new channel programs, pre-sales support, marketing, incentives and rewards to help its partners fuel sales to mid-market and SMB customers.

Stanimira Koleva said: “We are very excited with the enhancements we are making to the Partner Led model in Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China, where the growth in the commercial segments is extraordinary. Cisco has always been a very partner-centric company with over 80 percent of our business being done through the channels. This go-to-market model is what our customers have been asking for.”

The Cisco Partner Led model is customized in APJC to address different customer segments. One track will be focused on partners who serve customers with a high demand for services and integration and offers a collaborative selling approach to accelerate growth in mid-market accounts.

Another track focuses on meeting the specific needs of partners who serve SMB customers, and count on Cisco for the products, support and profitability to thrive and grow in this high growth segment.

Lady Gaga made an appearance at last night’s party and networking event and sessions restart bright and early again this morning.  Stay tuned for more updates.
