Today executives from Cisco, EMC and VMware hosted a media roundtable with customer Corporate Express, a $1.16 billion supplier of products for the office with 40 locations across Australia and New Zealand.

Andrew Grech, the Infrastructure and Operations Centre Manager at Corporate Express explained to media how it invested in Cisco UCS to help reach its goal of 100% virtualisation.  With the company’s commitment to sustainability in both its products and the way it operate(check out their inaugural sustainability report), he said the company has already virtualised approximately 85% of its applications and saved 700 tons of CO2 emissions.

Gretch also highlighted how the transition to Cisco UCS was the catalyst for its IT organisation transformation to better align with business initiatives for growth.   This is evidenced by the cross-training of the IT team across networking, storage and computing for enhanced career growth and development.
