Yahoo and Reuters Welcomes You to the “Human Network”

December 4, 2006 - 1 Comment

SAN JOSE, CA – Our new tagline at Cisco is “Welcome to the Human Network.” I’ll be honest that I struggled a bit with this term. Not everybody knows what a network does, so by extension would they know what a “human network” does and would they, in turn, want to be welcomed to this? I’ve come around, however, and today’s news of Yahoo and Reuters reaching out to “citizen” reporters reconfirms that the human network is alive and well. The New York Times reports that Reuters and Yahoo are “hoping to turn the millions of people with digital cameras and camera phones into photojournalists.” They are “introducing a new effort to showcase photographs and video of news events submitted by the public.” Just what Kramer needs. It also gives a new meaning to the term, the walls have ears…or eyes.
