November 11, 2011 - 0 Comments

Liad Ofek, Cisco Technical Marketing Manager for Cisco Wide Area Acceleration Services (WAAS)Next week at CA World, in addition to what I expect to be an excellent keynote and some other sessions, Cisco will have a series of presentations at our booth, in a theater we have set up. The booth is #410, near the entrance, on the right. One of our featured speakers, Liad Ofek, will present four topics you won’t want to miss. Liad is a Technical Marketing Manager in the Cisco Application Delivery Business Unit which is the home of Cisco WAAS [Wide Area Application Services].

Here’s his schedule:

Mon. 1 pm   Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) and CA NetQoS
Mon. 4 pm   Accelerating Citrix Virtual Desktops Using Cisco WAAS
Tue. 4 pm   Cisco Application Visibility and Control (AVC) solution
Wed. 1 pm   Cisco Application Velocity –

The Borderless Network Service for application performance

The first talk, Cisco WAAS and CA NetQoS, should be useful to anyone interested in the basics of how WAAS and NetQoS work together.

The second talk, Accelerating Citrix Virtual Desktops Using Cisco WAAS, is a great overview of the recently announced partnership between Cisco and Citrix that allows Cisco WAAS to provide high performance delivery of Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp over the WAN. [Check out the whitepaper]

On Tuesday afternoon, in the Cisco Application Visibility and Control (AVC) solution, Liad will go over the need for application recognition using deep packet inspection, and then the management, analysis, and optimization given this application understanding.

Finally, on Wednesday, Liad will review Cisco’s Borderless Networks service to enhance user application experience.
