August 31, 2011 - 0 Comments

Daily Blogger Techminute is back in Vegas Baby, Vegas!!  This time it’s for VMworld 2011. So far the show has been huge (20,000+ attendees) and past paced with announcements from Cisco, VMware and our partners. The Cisco booth is focused on Cloud/Virtualization, VDI/VXI and Automation, so we thought it would be great to kick off the week with experts in all of those areas.

Our techblogger guests today were:

After discussing the keynotes and our favorite things from the week (lots of interesting in new HTML5 functionality called “AppBlast” for End-User Computing, we dove into the key areas of the week.

Jay talked about the evolution of VCE Vblock platforms (from Vblock 0/1/2 to Vblock 300 and 700), as well as the announcements for Vblock FastPath and Vblock GRC solutions.

Steve talked about the evolution of virtualization and virtual desktops from technology to a strategy business decision. He highlighted successful roadshows targets at CIO-level discussions that our partner is leading. He also highlighted his excellent VMware vCloud Director book.

Nick talked about the incredible impact that Automation and Orchestration is having on large-scale data centers. He talked about the massive behind-the-scenes working happening in the VMworld Hands-on-Labs, EMC Hands-on-Labs and virtualizing physical resources.

We had so much to cover that we barely had time to talk about cool stuff like the announcement about VXLAN, the UCS Challenge in the Cisco booth (#700), or all the Ask the Expert discussions that are happening every day.

It’s been a great start to the week. Come back tomorrow for more great technology news and insight!
