Desert Fun: Interop and EMC World

What do you have when you combine over 20,000 IT professionals, the desert and gaming?  No, not 20,000 broke, sweaty nerds…you’ve got two great conferences!  Next week the city on the strip, Las Vegas Nevada, will be the host of Interop and EMC World.   Both events will provide attendees with plenty of updates on the future of networking, storage, compute and of course cloud.  Cisco will be present at both events here are some highlights:

Cisco Keynote:

  • Tuesday May 10th Cisco CIO Rebecca Jacoby and Senior VP Brett Galloway demonstrate the latest in Borderless Networks Innovations

Cisco Educational Sessions (Free):

  • 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, May 10: Enterprise IPv6: Planning and Deployment
  • 2:15 p.m, Tuesday, May 10: How to Make Your Network Ready for Video Without Straining Resources
  • 11:15 a.m., Wednesday, May 11: Best Practices for Preparing Your Network to Support Mobile Devices and Tablets

Also, be sure and stop by booth 1127 to learn about Cisco’s Data Center Fabric and discuss exciting topics like LISP, FCoE, Fabric Path, Cloud bursting with OTV and infrastructure management with Data Center Network Manager.   You’ll also be able to see a Cisco Server (Seriously, we sell servers) and get a first hand look at the power and beauty of the Unified Computing System.

Additionally, sign up for a tour of the Network Operations Center (3 Daily) and see the gear that is powering the Interop network.

Interop details are here.

EMC World

Cisco and EMC have a strong partnership and that will be evidenced by the myriad of Cisco Servers, Networking and storage access gear helping to power the collision of Big Data and Cloud.

A couple of excellent Cisco sessions to attend are:

  • Enabling the Journey to the Private Cloud Through Cisco and EMC Solutions
    • Cisco’s Brian Gracely and Tom Hogue
  • Building Cloud-Ready Storage with Cisco and EMC
    • Cisco’s J. Metz

Join Cisco in booth 400 for a showcase of Unified Computing, Unified Fabric, FCoE, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Unified Network Services, Data Center Network Manager and Private Cloud.

I’ll be manning the booth at various times talking about the Unified Computing System (UCS) and providing demos of the UCS Manager.  Stop by for a chat or just to say hi.

EMC World details are here.

blah blah cloudFinally, no conference would be complete without some cool swag and at both Interop and EMC World we will have a limited supply of Blah, Blah Cloud shirts.  Find the individual(s) in the booth wearing the coveted T’s and you might be able to score one for yourself.

Good Luck, be safe and enjoy the festivities!
