Cisco and Google are collaborating to establish a hybrid cloud architecture that empowers customers to innovate. For the past two years, our engineering teams have been working together to deliver a hybrid cloud solution that includes best in-class technologies from both companies. Together, we’re offering a framework that provides the security and consistency operations teams require, so they can adapt to changing business demands.

Next Level Co-Innovation

In April, we announced the next phase of our co-innovation with the integration of Google Cloud’s Anthos with Cisco’s data center, security, networking, and analytics portfolio. The hybrid architecture offering gives our customers the freedom to choose how they want to modernize applications at their own pace, while at the same time making the most out of their existing data center investments.

Because of this integration between Google Cloud’s Anthos and Cisco data center technologies – which includes Cisco HyperFlex, ACI, SD-WAN and Stealthwatch Cloud – customers are now able to seamlessly move workloads and applications across clouds and on-premise environments. In addition, they will be able to realize the following benefits:

  • Operate consistently across an enterprise data center and the cloud
  • Consume cloud services from an enterprise data center
  • Modernize on premises environments with the latest cloud technologies
  • Benefit from a fully-managed service, like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Take advantage of edge computing

Working with Trusted Partners

Our customers need to be able to innovate with confidence. They want to deploy new business services and applications using the cloud with the assurance they are working with strategic, trusted partners. Cisco and Google Cloud have been proactive in working with Cisco’s resellers to help deliver these hybrid cloud solutions.

One of the partners that has been involved since the early stages of our co-innovation is Telindus. They provide hosted services to the financial services market. Its customers are highly regulated and conservative, but they want to remain innovative in order to gain a competitive advantage. The new Cisco-Google Cloud hybrid cloud architecture provides Telindus and their customers with the confidence they need to pursue new business initiatives.

Building with a Consistent Hybrid Framework

The Cisco HyperFlex™ hyperconverged infrastructure serves as a common building block of the Cisco-Google Cloud hybrid architecture. It can be used with both Kubernetes-based and virtualized workloads. When a HyperFlex or HyperFlex Edge system is used with Google Cloud’s Anthos, they work together to provide a consistent experience whether on-premises, in the Google Cloud, or in other public clouds. Customers can add Cisco networking, security, and management products based on their requirements using the hybrid cloud architecture.
