Accelerating Customer and Partner Success with VXI and VMware View

February 13, 2012 - 1 Comment

Did you catch the news today?  As Cisco and VMware continue to collaborate in transforming virtual desktops into virtual workspaces, we reached an important milestone – an agreement to sell VMware View 5 software as part of an integrated VXI offer to our customers.  This new resell agreement streamlines and simplifies the process by which organizations can procure and deploy VXI in their environments, while offering our channel partners an additional option for how they assemble the offer for their customers.

This approach is consistent with the theme of making desktop and workspace virtualization simpler and more cost-effective for those seeking to reap its benefits, supplemented by Cisco Validated Designs for Desktop Virtualization and VXI with VMware, that take the guesswork out of implementing a scalable infrastructure that delivers consistent performance as desktops or workspaces are added.

Some additional noteworthy items from this announcement:

  • By the end of the first quarter of 2012, distributors, channel partners and customers will be able to purchase Cisco and VMware integrated virtual desktop solutions directly from Cisco.
  • Cisco is also introducing new channel enablement resources, to help channel partners accelerate their customers’ journey to the cloud.
  • Through this agreement, customers can take advantage of Cisco Capital financing offerings when purchasing the integrated Cisco and VMware desktop virtualization solution which can reduce capital expenditures and spread out the cost.

  1. Worth mentioning a similar agreement to resell Citrix XenDesktop and also that Cisco has similar supporting design documents for VXI with XenDesktop. Here:
