Showcasing the New Digital Age

October 17, 2012 - 2 Comments

During the past days at the Cisco Collaboration Summit, I have been with customers, partners, analysts and consultants discussing the future of collaboration and how if we empower and engage employees, we can foster innovation. It is always energizing to hear customers’ business transformation and aspiration stories, share partner opportunities and success stories, and to engage in deep discussions with analysts and consultants regarding our perspectives on the future of collaboration.

My colleague, Marthin De Beer, shared some marketing trends and directions during the opening keynote. His opening with Curiosity’s (Mars Rover) twitter activity is clearly underlying the beginning of a new digital age – where Curiosity’s social network is integral to its new cool and fun identity, where social is helping to inspire and capture the imagination of millions. It is amazing that social media has helped re-ignite the excitement for space exploration.

Perhaps my favorite part of the keynote was our demo of future possibilities, showcasing some technologies we are playing with in the labs. It is so exciting to be part of building the workspace of the future.
