Raj Patel, Cisco’s New Vice President of Collaboration Software Group Technical Operations

At Cisco, the Collaboration Software Group (CSG) is currently focused on driving a business plan to achieve rapid growth of our core businesses – meetings, enterprise IM, and hosted mail while positioning Cisco for new business models and new opportunities in the collaboration space.  Advances in infrastructure and operations are an absolute necessity to accelerate and win in this market.

Today, we are pleased to announce and welcome Raj Patel to Cisco as our new Vice President, CSG Technical Operations.

Raj was most recently the Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations Strategy at Yahoo! Inc. where he helped drive the vision for Yahoo’s Compute Infrastructure encompassing data centers, networks, systems and storage infrastructure.  Previously, he led the Network Systems and Storage engineering teams.  Prior to Yahoo, he held senior leadership roles in Networking, Infrastructure and Operations at Exodus Communications, Coreon, Inc., and SBC Communications.

At Cisco, Raj will be able to use his considerable expertise to leverage the strength of our current Cisco WebEx Collaboration Cloud capabilities and build a robust infrastructure platform supporting Cisco SaaS offerings across product lines globally.

Raj lives in the Bay Area with his wife and two daughters.  Outside of work, his passions include golf and technology – and possibly a desire to find a way to combine the two!
