Vice President

WW Borderless Network Architecture

Ross Fowler leads worldwide sales for Cisco’s Borderless Networks Architecture and co-chairs Cisco’s cross-functional Borderless Network Architecture Board.

Cisco’s Borderless Network Architecture is designed to address key IT transitions that pose significant opportunities and challenges for Cisco’s customers. These include the proliferation of mobile devices, the consumerization of IT and the “Bring Your Own Device” phenomenon; the growing adoption of cloud computing; the enormous growth in video collaboration; the increasing presence of advanced persistent security threats and the need to minimize energy consumption.

These transitions simply can’t be addressed by a “good enough” network that’s based on yesterday’s standards. Cisco’s unique Borderless Network Architecture takes care of these transitions while also simplifying IT operations to deliver the best Total Cost of Ownership.

Ross has more than 37 years of technical and business experience in the IT and telecommunications industries. Prior to his current role, Ross led Cisco’s European Service Provider business—after leading Cisco’s business in Australia and New Zealand. Ross came to Cisco in 2003 from Alcatel where he was CEO for its Australia and New Zealand operations.

Ross holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s in business administration from the University of Technology in Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers in Australia and the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. Ross and his wife Kathryn raised three children who still reside in Sydney.
